About the Speaker

david kalow David Kalow
David Kalow, AB'74, David Kalow, AB'74, JD'76 JD'76 graduated from the University of Chicago in 1974 (physics and math major) and from Law from University of Chicago in 1976. He was a general litigator before focusing exclusively on intellectual property. In 1996 he started a new IP law firm, continuing the litigation, diligence, licensing and protection of patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. In 2013 he started his solo practice, focused on IP Strategy. Representative clients include Applied Biosystems, Beckman, Cartier, Cigarette Racing Team (Top Gun, others), Conan (plus Red Sonja and Kull), Dharmacon, Enzo, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Donald Judd estate, Andre Kertesz estate, Live Picture (FITS Imaging), Lynx Therapeutics, MezoCliq, Millennium Chemicals, Orchid BioSciences, Philips, Pilates, SCM Metal Products, SeaTow, Sign of the Dove, Ultralife Batteries, University of Chicago, Van Cleef & Arpels, American Foundation for the Blind and class-action pharmaceutical antitrust plaintiffs.   Mr. Tarun Khurana
Tarun has over 18 years of experience in a broad range of Intellectual Property (IP) subject matters, and is the Co-Founding Partner and Patent Attorney of Khurana & Khurana (K&K) and of its Patent Research and IP Asset Management Firm, IIPRD, both of which are among the Leading IP and Commercial/Corporate Law Practices with 10 Offices in India, and over 180 Professionals. The firms also have regional offices in US, Vietnam, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. Tarun focuses on Patent Preparation, Prosecution and Litigation Opinions for Computer Implemented, Telecommunication, Electronics, and Mechanical subject matters. His education includes Bachelors in Computer Science from Pune University, Masters in Software Systems from BITS Pilani, Bachelors of Law from CCS University, an MBA from the prestigious IIM Lucknow, and is in pursuit of a PhD.
