Invention relates to a process for preparation of nanocrystals of poorly water soluble drugs to increase the solubility and dissolution rate and bioavailability. It is an improved process for preparation of nanocrystals of lovastatin (LVS) to increase the solubility and dissolution rate and bioavailability. Lovastatin is a member of the drug class of statins, used for lowering cholesterol.
