Dhakshina is a Partner Director at IIPRD and Khurana & Khurana. Dhakshina has over 19 years of experience in patent matters relating to technologies in the fields of chemistry and pharmaceuticals. Dhakshina has expertise in patent searches, patent drafting, worldwide prosecution of patent applications, patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions, patent due diligence, and patent portfolio management. Dhakshina has worked in in-house patent teams of pharmaceutical companies including Orchid Pharma, Piramal Enterprises Limited, and Suven Life Sciences Ltd. Prior to entering the patent field, Dhakshina gained hands-on technical experience in process research and development for active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates in the laboratory of Orchid Pharma. Dhakshina has patent publications as an inventor and also presented poster at ACS conferences. Dhakshina holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Madras, is a registered Patent Agent with the Indian Patent Office, and also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Patent Law from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. In addition, Dhakshina holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
