Dr. Swateja Deshmukh is an Associate with the Patents team at IIPRD and Khurana & Khurana. She has a strong background in intellectual property, scientific research, and innovation management. She has hands-on expertise in conducting comprehensive prior art searches, drafting patent claims and detailed specifications across chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology–biomedical, and mechanical domains, and preparing effective responses to First Examination Reports (FERs). She used to serve as a Research Officer (IPR) at IIT Jodhpur, where she managed DPIIT-funded IPR projects, coordinated IPR cell operations, and advised inventors on patentability, novelty, and scope. She also brings experience in inventor counseling, and IP awareness initiatives, along with strong proficiency in proofreading research manuscripts and patent drafts to meet high writing standards.
